Breath stabilizes
Mind vibrates clear
Can there be anything
But this present moment?
Even when it “divides”
Itself in two
And longs for itself
It is all, always
Only the present moment
My own tricks cease
To fool me
Can I wander lost
Without a smile on my face?
The air is thick with presence
How do I speak that old language
Of absence and want?
It falls away
And I do not know how others
Will hear me now
Only God will whisper
The answer
One moment at a time
