My front yard
Taught me distraction
Walking to my car
I fall into the trees
I look at the leaves
And forget their color
Cannot conceive their shape
So completely do they
Captivate me
The air, so heavy
With the calling of the cicadas
To the crickets
That I have lost my ears
Which could peceive a sound
Separately from me
How can I even drive away
From the distraction
My front yard
Has given me?
